things that happened
i try to think back
to see if it
really did happen
sometimes i feel
that it happened in another life
since it's hard to believe
it really did happen
during the day
i wear a happy face
hang out with my friends
just like the old days
but every night
when i go to sleep
i stay awake
while tears run down my cheek
reminds me
that it did happen
in this life
